Chandrapur, March 25 -- A woman was killed in a tiger attack while she had gone to collect firewood in the forest due to a shortage of gas cylinders in Chandrapur district, officials said on Wednesday.
According to information, there is a severe shortage of gas cylinders in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district forcing many villagers to depend on firewood for cooking.
The woman had gone to the forest yesterday to collect firewood and was mauled by the big cat. She died on the spot. When the woman did not return home, family members and villagers started searching for her. Later, her body was found in the forest.
