Bhopal, July 11 -- A crocodile killed a woman who had gone to bathe in a river in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning.
According to the police, the incident occurred in village Kaniya Ghat Pati.
A group of women had gone to the Vyarma river in the area to bathe and collect drinking water. One of them, identified as Malti Bai (40) wife of Meghraj Singh, was taking a bath when the crocodile came all of sudden and grabbed her leg in its jaws.
The crocodile dragged the woman into the water and swam to the middle of the river, before other women or the people present there could do anything to help her.
They immediately informed the police and the forest authorities.
