Mumbai, Sept. 5 -- Nearly a decade after the disappearance of woman assistant police inspector Ashwini Bidre, and months after a court convicted former police inspector Abhay Kurundkar in her murder, her family has finally secured her official death certificate.

The certificate was issued by the Panvel Municipal Corporation on September 4 following an application by Bidre's husband, Raju Gore, and an order passed by the Panvel Executive Magistrate and Tehsildar.

The civic record formally registers April 11, 2016 the date on which Bidre was last seen as her date of death. Bidre, who was attached to the Navi Mumbai Police as an assistant inspector, went missing on that date after she was reportedly last seen in the vicinity of Kharghar rail...
