Darbhanga (Bihar), April 22 -- As part of an intensified crackdown on substance abuse, police in Darbhanga arrested 66 people found in an intoxicated state during a special drive conducted across multiple police station areas late Tuesday in the district.

Bihar enforced a strict prohibition on the manufacture, sale, storage, and consumption of liquor on April 1, 2016, a policy that continues.

Senior Superintendent of Police Jagunath Reddy Jala Reddy said the raids were carried out simultaneously in several police station jurisdictions.
