Shimla, July 31 -- A pair of venomous pit vipers was successfully rescued from a residential house in Rakchham village of Kinnaur district and released safely into their natural habitat after a nearly three-hour operation carried out by the Wildlife Range Sangla on Friday.
According to officials, the Wildlife Range Sangla received information that two snakes had entered the kitchen of a house occupied by members of the Nepali community in Rakchham under the Rakchham-Chitkul Wildlife Sanctuary.
The reptiles, locally known as "Sapa" in Kinnauri, had taken shelter inside the kitchen, prompting concern among the residents.
