Hyderabad, May 11 -- Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Monday said wildlife conservation is deeply rooted in Indian culture and is essential for safeguarding forests and securing the future of coming generations.
The Governor was addressing a two-day workshop organised by the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) under the theme "Shared Stripes - Shared Future" at Nehru Zoological Park.
The event was jointly organised by the union ministry of External Affairs and the Telangana Forest Department.
Inaugurating the workshop as the chief guest, the Governor said India plays a globally significant role in the conservation of big cat species such as tigers, leopards, Asiatic lions, and snow leopards.
