Hamirpur (HP), April 8 -- Normal life has come to a near standstill following moderate to heavy rains in all parts of the Hamirpur district since Tuesday afternoon.
It rained heavily and on the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday and it was continuing on Wednesday also.
Sharp winds accompanied by hail also lashed some of the parts of the district as a result the Rabi crops and fruit crops were damaged. Mango plants were the worst hit.
Rain has brought down the temperature as a result people are forced to adorn heavy woolens to save them from the wrath of chill. Worst affected were the school going children who had switched over to summer dresses. They were forced to wear woolen clothings once again.
