London, May 27 -- The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 will begin with a unique mix of cricket and theatre as stars from the hit musical Wicked are set to perform live before England take on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener.

Emma Kingston and Zizi Strallen will lead the cast as Elphaba and Glinda during the opening ceremony, which will take place ahead of the first match of the tournament in Birmingham. The performance also marks 20 years of Wicked in London's West End.

The ICC said the collaboration is part of its larger effort to make the Women's T20 World Cup a bigger cultural and entertainment event alongside the cricket action.

More than 150,000 tickets have already been sold for the tournament, making it the highest-selling edition...
