New Delhi, Jan. 14 -- India's wholesale price inflation edged higher in December 2025, with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rising to 0.83 per cent year-on-year, reflecting increased prices in manufactured goods and select primary articles, according to official data released on Tuesday.
On a monthly basis, wholesale prices increased by 0.71 per cent in December compared to November, indicating a mild build-up in price pressures at the producer level. The overall WPI stood at 157.0 during the month, based on the 2011-12 base year.
Manufactured products, which carry the highest weight in the WPI basket, recorded an annual inflation of 1.82 per cent, driven by higher prices of machinery and equipment, textiles, food products...
