Washington, Aug. 10 -- White House officials have reportedly said that they are not troubled by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's rejection of the Board of Peace's Gaza disarmament plan, terming it a part of his campaign rhetoric ahead of the October 27 general elections.
A US official noted that despite Jerusalem's stated objections, it has in fact halted strikes in Gaza for the past five days.
"We are not troubled by those comments from Netanyahu," a senior US source told Channel 12. "We understand his political needs [in this election period].
