New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- The Centre on Monday removed restrictions on the export of wheat flour and related products, including maida, semolina, wholewheat atta and resultant atta, allowing overseas shipments with immediate effect.
The change follows an amendment to the export policy governing wheat flour and associated products. With the latest decision, exports of these items have been moved back to the free category, ending the restrictions that had been in place since 2022.
India had imposed a ban on wheat exports in July 2022 after a sharp rise in domestic wheat and flour prices raised concerns over food security and supplies.
