Washington, April 27 -- The White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting suspect left behind a detailed "manifesto" outlining his intentions, including a plan to target Trump administration officials from the highest to lowest.
Authorities identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cole Allen of Torrance, California.
According to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Allen approached a security checkpoint outside the dinner armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and knives before being stopped. President Donald Trump and other officials were quickly evacuated and the event was shut down.
