Tokyo, Aug. 25 -- UN World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director Cindy McCain said the world was in the midst of the worst humanitarian crisis on Earth and described the situation in the Gaza Strip as catastrophic, stressing that she feels intense anger over the inability to provide aid to people due to Israel's ongoing military operation.
"There's very serious malnutrition. You've seen people die of hunger there," she said in an interview with the Japanese broadcaster NHK.
McCain added that she was extremely angry that aid efforts were being hampered by ongoing Israeli military attacks, which were exacerbating food shortages.
