New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- Two-time ODI World Cup champions West Indies will have to go through the qualifying tournament once again to secure a place in the 2027 50-over World Cup after missing out on automatic qualification.
Currently 10th in the ICC ODI rankings, West Indies cannot break into the automatic qualification positions by the September 30 deadline, even if they win both of their remaining ODIs against India. They will therefore have to compete in the World Cup Qualifier in February next year for a chance to feature in the tournament in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
