London, Feb. 22 -- West Ham United were held to a goalless draw by AFC Bournemouth at the London Stadium here, missing the opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone in the English Premier League(EPL).

Needing a win to boost their survival hopes, West Ham dominated large parts of the contest and finished with 20 shots, but only three were on target as Bournemouth's defence stood firm, as per the Premier League website.

The hosts came close to scoring in the opening minute when Axel Disasi's header was cleared off the line after goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic had initially palmed it away. Valentin Castellanos and Callum Wilson also failed to convert their chances during a strong first-half display by the home side.
