Kolkata, Aug. 3 -- West Bengal is looking to leverage its global diaspora along with the growing artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem to attract fresh investment into the state, with a delegation expected to pitch the state as an investment destination before nearly 400 global investors and financial institutions at Confluence 2027 in California next year.

Speaking at the launch of the initiative on Monday, Chief Minister's Adviser Dr Subrata Gupta said the programme would use the global network of people of Bengali origin occupying leadership positions across the United States, the Middle East and Southeast Asia to attract investment into West Bengal.
