Kolkata, June 25 -- The West Bengal government has directed all unaided madrasas in the state to submit detailed student enrolment data for the 2026 academic session within seven days to strengthen administrative oversight and update official records.

The directive has been issued by the Directorate of Madrasah Education following concerns over the absence of a comprehensive database of students studying in unaided madrasas across the state.

Officials said the lack of updated information on the Banglar Shiksha Portal and the absence of UDISE (Unified District Information System for Education) codes for many institutions have created significant difficulties in maintaining accurate records at the state level.
