Kolkata, Feb. 28 -- After a lot of deliberations, the Election Commission of India, in compliance with an order of the Supreme Court of India, will publish the final voters' list for West Bengal on Saturday after partially completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Details available from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal on Friday show that an additional nine (9) lakh names are set to be excluded from the final list.

These exclusions are over and above the 58 lakhs names that were dropped from the draft electoral roll, taking the total number of deletions to around 67 lakhs at this stage.

The CEO's office also indicated that discrepancies have been detected in the records of nearly 60 lakh voters.
