Kolkata, July 7 -- The former West Bengal sports minister of the erstwhile Trinamool Congress government in the state, Aroop Biswas, appeared before Bidhannagar police on Tuesday for questioning in connection with an extortion and cheating case linked to the visit of Argentine football legend Lionel Messi to the Salt Lake Stadium on December 13 last year.
The former sports minister in the Trinamool Congress government arrived at Bidhannagar (South) police station in response to a fresh summons issued by the investigating officers. The case is based on a complaint filed by Satadru Dutta, the organiser of the event.
