Kolkata, June 26 -- The West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Friday announced that it would organise a "massive public meeting" on July 21 to commemorate Martyrs' Day, coinciding with the annual observance traditionally associated with the Trinamool Congress.

Addressing a Press conference at Bidhan Bhavan, PCC president Subhankar Sarkar said the Congress, under the supervision of the West Bengal Youth Congress, would pay tribute to the 13 people who were killed during the 1993 firing incident. Party leaders and workers will offer floral tributes at the base of the Shahid Minar in Esplanade.
