Kolkata, May 15 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said that the proceedings of the West Bengal State Assembly will soon be live streamed.

"We will live stream the proceedings inside the West Bengal State Assembly from now on," Adhikari said on the floor of the state assembly.

Adhikari said the decision was taken so that people across the state can watch Assembly proceedings in real time and assess the performance of their elected representatives.

"This is being done to ensure transparency," he said, adding that citizens who have voted MLAs to power would now be able to see how their representatives participate in debates and discussions inside the House.
