New Delhi, June 12 -- The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways expressed concern over recent attacks involving merchant vessels carrying Indian crew members.
During an inter-ministerial briefing at the National Media Centre, the officials confirmed the death of three Indian seafarers in an attack on a commercial oil tanker off the coast of Oman.
The most serious incident occurred on June 10 when the Palau-flagged oil tanker MT Settebello came under attack off the Omani coast. Of the 28 crew members onboard, including 24 Indians, three Indian seafarers lost their lives.
