Well Marked LP Area becomes Depression, to intensify as Cyclone, to cross AP coast on Oct 28

Chennai, Oct. 25 -- The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Bay today intensified intoa Depression and will further concentrate in a Cyclonic Storm 'Montha' on October 27, and it isexpected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast near Kakinada between Machilipatnam andKalingapattinam on October 28 evening.

Under its influence, North Coastal districts including, Chennai and is adjoining areas, and NorthInterior districts of Tamil Nadu are expected to get heavy rains till October 28 when the systemsmoves closer to the TN coast.

A bulletin issued by the Met office said the Well marked low-Pressure area over southeast Bayof Bengal moved nearly westwards, concentrated into a Depression and lay centre ,over thesame region, about 420 km west-southw...
