Hyderabad, Feb. 13 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said the Congress' strong performance in the municipal elections reflected public approval of the state government's development and welfare-oriented governance.
In a statement, he said public administration was in public good, and described the distribution of fine rice to beneficiaries as a game changer in the elections.
Reddy said initiatives such as white ration cards for the eligible poor, free supply of quality rice to nearly 85 per cent of the population, free bus travel for women, Indiramma housing scheme and free electricity up to 200 units for eligible households played a key role in the Congress victory.
