Chennai, May 22 -- Chennai Super Kings ended their disappointing IPL 2026 season with a heavy 89- run loss to Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Thursday, but bowling coach Eric Simons preferred to take the positives, saying the campaign helped the five-time champions understand its young players, squad balance and the areas they need to improve before next season.
After Gujarat Titans piled up 229/4, CSK were bowled out for 140 in just 13.4 overs to officially end a disappointing campaign. Despite the result, Simons said the team would use the season as a learning phase, especially for several inexperienced players who featured during the tournament.
