Kannur, March 29 -- CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby on Saturday said the party has no electoral pact with Jamaat-e-Islami or Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
Addressing a meet-the- Press organised by the Kannur Press Club, Baby described Jamaat -e-islami as having a religious nationalist orientation and said the CPI(M) does not engage with communal organisations.
He added that SDPI's style of politics is not in line with democratic processes, urging the party to adopt democratic methods and revise its stance. "If Jamaat-e-Islami does not follow a religious nationalist line, it should declare so publicly, " Baby said.
