New Delhi, April 2 -- India today pointed out that it is the only country to have lost mariners in attacks on merchant shipping in the conflict-hit Gulf region, and also stressed on the impact of the crisis on the country's energy security, during multilateral talks hosted by the UK on opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who represented India on Thursday in virtual mode at the summit of 35 nations hosted by the UK, also noted the importance of the principles of freedom of navigation and unimpeded transit through international waterways.
