Kolkata, Sept. 6 -- The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) will conduct the recruitment examination for Class 9 and 10 teachers on Sunday under heightened security and strict transparency measures, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Over 3.19 lakh candidates are expected to take the test at more than 636 centres across the state.

In total, more than 5.65 lakh applicants have registered for the two phases of recruitment, WBSSC Chairman Siddhartha Majumdar said.

The School Level Selection Test (SLST) aims to fill 35,726 teaching posts across Classes 9-10 and 11-12.
