Kolkata, June 24 -- A major accident occurred in Kolkata's Taratala area on Wednesday when the roof of an under-construction warehouse collapsed during construction work, trapping dozens of workers under the debris.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, along with state ministers Indranil Khan and Agnimitra Pal, rushed to the spot to oversee the rescue operation.
Kolkata Municipal Commissioner Smita Pandey, Police Commissioner Ajay Nanda, and other senior officials are also supervising the operation.
A large-scale rescue operation involving the Army, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire services, police, and disaster management teams is currently underway.
