Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 -- Taking serious note of the widespread waterlogging and flooding witnessed in several parts of the state capital following heavy rains, the Kerala Government has decided to initiate urgent measures to address the crisis, Water Resources and Housing Minister Advocate Mons Joseph said today.
The Minister said the government views the situation in Thiruvananthapuram with utmost seriousness and has directed the State Chief Engineer of the Irrigation Department to immediately examine the reasons behind the severe waterlogging reported in various parts of the city, particularly in Thampanoor and Chacka, and submit an urgent report.
