Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal on Thursday said water infrastructure projects worth around Rs 54,000 crore have been approved in the state during the past two years, describing the investment as a major step towards strengthening irrigation and boosting the agricultural economy.
"This is not merely a large financial allocation but a major investment in the future of Odisha's farmers," Samal said in a statement here.
Claiming that the BJP government in Odisha is a "government of work, not announcements", Samal said expansion of irrigation facilities would increase agricultural production, boost farmers' incomes and contribute to the overall prosperity of the state.
