Solan, Oct. 21 -- The Giri Lift Drinking Water Scheme, supplying water to Solan town and adjoining villages, has remained non-functional for the past two days, causing a severe drinking water crisis.
Several areas, including Saproon and Power House Road, have reportedly not received water for five to six days.
Residents alleged that neither the district administration, the municipal corporation, nor the Jal Shakti Department officials are taking the situation seriously. Frequent breakdowns, high silt levels in rivers, voltage fluctuations and motor failures are being cited as reasons for the disruption.
