Giridih, March 22 -- Jharkhand Urban Development, Sports and Tourism Minister Sudivya Kumar on Sunday said water conservation is a collective responsibility and called for greater public participation to address the growing water crisis.

Addressing a district-level programme on the occasion of World Water Day, he said water is the basis of human life and its conservation must become a people's movement.

He said Jal Sahiya workers and village heads play a key role at the grassroots in spreading awareness and protecting water resources.

The minister said the government is working to strengthen drinking water systems and ensure supply of clean water to every household.
