Mumbai , July 26 -- The Waqf Shet Zameen Shetkari Sangh (Waqf Agricultural Land Farmers' Association) has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to provide financial relief to farmers cultivating Waqf agricultural land by waiving their farm loans and pending Waqf fund dues.

The organisation said that while the state government has announced relief measures for lakhs of farmers, nearly 5,000 to 10,000 minority farmers cultivating Waqf land should not be excluded from the benefits.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the association's coordinator Yunus Alam Siddiqui congratulated the government on launching the "Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Loan Waiver Scheme", describing it as a significant step for the farming community...
