Nagpur, May 21 -- The demand for a separate Vidarbha state has once again gained momentum after the Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti (VRAS) announced a statewide agitation programme aimed at achieving statehood by 2027.
The decision was taken during the organisation's quarterly national meeting held in Nagpur on Wednesday.
The organisation unveiled a detailed agitation roadmap comprising protests, marches and public outreach programmes across the Vidarbha region to revive the statehood movement.
One of the major announcements was the Kranti Din Long March, scheduled for August 9.
The march will begin from Deekshabhoomi and culminate at Samvidhan Chowk, where a public rally will be organised.
