Bengaluru, June 27 -- Vice President CP Radhakrishnan on Saturday called for urgent water conservation measures and advocated interlinking of rivers to ensure optimal utilisation of water resources for the benefit of farmers across the country.

Addressing the 517th birth anniversary celebrations of Nadaprabhu Sri Kempegowda here, the Vice President said India must focus on long-term solutions to address growing water scarcity challenges. He said efficient management and redistribution of water resources would be crucial for sustaining agriculture and supporting rural livelihoods.
