(UNI ELECTION SPECIAL)Snehal SenguptaKolkata, April 28 -- Referring to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) as a "living fossil" that is on its way out of power, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samik Bhattacharya, said that the polls in West Bengal are a battle between the Aam Janata (people of the state) versus Mamata (TMC supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee).

Referring to the first phase of the West Bengal elections as "unprecedented in terms of participation", Bhattacharya said the fact that the polls recorded a voter turnout of 93.19 per cent is clearly indicative that Mamata Banerjee is on her way out.
