Thiruvananthapuram, June 1 -- Continuing its remarkable growth trajectory, the deep-water transshipment hub at Vizhinjam International Seaport has achieved yet another significant milestone by registering its highest-ever monthly container throughput since commencing operations.
For the first time, the port crossed the 1.30 lakh TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) mark in a single month, handling 1,30,863 TEUs during May 2026, reflecting a steady rise in cargo volumes and strengthening its position as a major maritime gateway in the region.
The achievement surpasses the port's previous monthly throughput record of 1.23 lakh TEUs, which was registered in January 2026, underscoring the growing confidence of global shipping lines in Vizhinjam'...
