Bengaluru, July 28 -- Senior Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan on Tuesday acknowledged that the controversy over a purported viral audio clip had dealt a blow to his political prospects, including his chances of securing a ministerial berth in the Karnataka cabinet expansion.

In a candid admission amid intense lobbying for cabinet positions, Zameer said the controversy had adversely affected him, while maintaining that the voice in the audio was not his and that the ongoing investigation would establish the facts.
