Darbhanga, Nov. 4 -- In a twist of events, the Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) today announced its support to expelled RJD leader Afzal Ali Khan in Guara-Boram seat, virtually withdrawing its own candidate Santosh Sahni, apprehending adverse impact on the prospect of Grand Alliance in the assembly polls voting for which is due November 6 in the first phase.
Guara-Boram constituency falls in Darbhanga district, north Bihar.
VIP chief Mukesh Sahni made the announcement of withdrawal of party candidate Santosh Sahni from the fray at a hurriedly convened press conference. "All workers and leaders of the party will support Khan to ensure his victory," he added.
