Muzzafarabad, July 27 -- The first phase of "elections" in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) was marred by violence, allegations of electoral malpractice and clashes between rival political workers, including the death of a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) worker who was killed during polling violence in the Kotli district, reports Dawn.
The polling process, which began at 8am across 13 constituencies in the Mirpur division and was scheduled to conclude at 5pm was extended by one hour after Mirpur Commissioner Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan later extended voting in Bhimber, Mirpur and Kotli districts.
