Bengaluru, May 16 -- Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for fuel conservation and austerity measures amid global economic uncertainty, Karnataka BJP President and MLA B Y Vijayendra travelled by the Bengaluru Metro on Friday while heading to a party programme at Kumbalagodu.

Vijayendra travelled from Majestic on the Challaghatta-Kengeri Metro corridor, drawing public attention amid rising fuel prices and the ongoing national debate on fuel conservation.

Speaking to reporters during the journey, Vijayendra said the Prime Minister's call for limited fuel usage and austerity measures was timely in view of global economic challenges and geopolitical tensions, particularly the conflict involving the United States and Iran.
