Mysuru, July 28 -- BJP Karnataka president Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Tuesday demanded that the Karnataka government immediately file a review petition against the direction on Cauvery water release, alleging that the Congress government had weakened the state's case by releasing water even before the Cauvery Water Regulation Authority (CWRA) issued its directive and by failing to effectively argue Karnataka's position before the tribunal.
Addressing reporters here, Vijayendra said safeguarding the interests of farmers in the Cauvery basin was the foremost responsibility of the state government and the Chief Minister.
