Bengaluru, June 26 -- BJP Karnataka President Vijayendra Yediyurappa today defended the party's controversial social media post comparing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to Adolf Hitler, stating that it was a "hard truth" reflecting the reality of the Emergency era.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra said, "It was the 50th year-the day when Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister, enforced Emergency in this country. So it's quite natural that this issue is being discussed across the country, not just in Karnataka or the BJP. We have rightly compared Shrimati Indira Gandhi to Hitler. What's wrong in that?"
