Chennai, May 7 -- As confusion continued over his coronation as the next Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, a writ petition was filed in the Madras High Court seeking to register a First Information Report (FIR) and order a probe against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Founder and actor-politician Vijay for alleged money laundering charges over the 2015 Income-Tax (IT) dispute case over the film "Puli".

The plea sought filing of FIR against him on the basis of the IT proceedings initiated after the release of the film for alleged suppression of income, receipt of unaccounted cash remuneration and concealing financial transactions.
