Chennai, July 29 -- He remains the darling of the masses, and the awe he evokes has never waned as Tamil Nadu Chief Ministerand Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Joseph Vijay drew huge crowds during a ride on the Chennai Metro Rail and also travelled in the unmanned train service ahead of its launch on Wednesday.
While this is the first time Vijay has stepped into the Metro, it is the second time he has travelled in public transport. And it was a pleasant shock for the passengers to see the Chief Minister being a commuter. A middle-aged woman beside whom Vijay sat during the brief journey was on cloud nine as she affectionately held the film icon-turned Chief Minister's hands and even touched his face, her eyes brimming with joy.
