Jammu, July 27 -- More than 200 ex-servicemen and war widows on Monday attended an outreach programme organised by the Indian Army to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and honour the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of the nation's veterans and Veer Naris at Thalela in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Defence spokesperson here said the programme aimed to strengthen the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the veteran fraternity, extend welfare support, and express gratitude to the families of the nation's brave soldiers.

A total of 220 participants, including four Veer Naris and 13 widows, attended the programme.
