Sheohar, March 24 -- In a major crackdown on corruption, the Special Vigilance Unit on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residence and multiple premises linked to Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC)-cum-Chief Executive Officer Brijesh Kumar in Sheohar district of Bihar.
Vigilance sources said here a case has been registered against Kumar under Sections 13(1)(b), 13(2), and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended in 2018), for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The allegations suggest that during his tenure in various official positions, Kumar had accumulated assets worth approximately Rs 1.84 crore through illegal means, exceeding his legitimate earnings.
