Ranchi/New Delhi, July 10 -- Veteran trade union leader and senior Congress politician Chandrashekhar Dubey alias Dadai Dubey passed away at a hospital in New Delhi on Thursday. He was 75.
Dubey, a former national president of INTUC - the labour wing of the Congress - was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for the past few days.
A prominent figure in India's labour movement, Dubey was known for raising workers' issues both on the ground and in the legislature. He represented Bishrampur in the Jharkhand Assembly and was also elected to the Lok Sabha from Dhanbad.
He held the labour portfolio in the Jharkhand government and played an active role in organising industrial and unorganised sector workers under the INTUC banner.
