Mumbai, Nov. 7 -- The final rites of veteran playback singer and actress Sulakshna Pandit will be performed on Friday in Mumbai .
The Indian film and music fraternity is mourning the passing of the actress who died last evening after a prolonged illness. She was 71.
According to a statement issued by her family, the final rites will be performed this afternoon at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai.
Sulakshna Pandit rose to prominence in the 1970s and early 1980s, when she shared screen space with some of the biggest stars of the era - Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, and Shatrughan Sinha.
